Synopsis

Crossing paths in the heart of the biggest squat in France. Tuesday 22nd of October 2019 at 6 o'clock in the morning, police forces evacuate the Marais squat while it is still dark in Caen. Emptied in just two hours, the walls of the building still resonate with the laughter of the children and the families who lived there for a year and a half. 250 inhabitants, including 80 children, now left on their own on the streets. Our cameras began filming seven months before that fateful day, when the "squat du Marais" provided shelter and stability for several families. The first floor was used as a meeting room, for sewing or French lessons. Everyone was entitled to a small flat, with water, heating and electricity. This film recounts a part of life of four migrant families during their stay in the Marais squat.
