Synopsis
17-year-old Miguel ends up training as a butcher after dropping out of school. The son of a Portuguese immigrant, his slight build and unusual appearance make him the opposite of the image that butchers try to perpetrate. His apprenticeship, both at school and in the shop, consists of an almost military "reeducation", involving wearing auniform, polishing up his language, knowledge of anatomy and different ways of cutting. Miguel has to overcome various difficulties inorder to be admitted into the orders of the corporation. Whether hesucceeds or fails, his metamorphosis is underway.
