Synopsis

There are estimated to be almost a million young people in Japan who have withdrawn into their bedrooms, cut off from all social life, sometimes for several years. Known as hikikomori, they are characteristic of what Japanese society refers to as the"lost generation". This film sets out to meet them in one of the resocialisation centres opened forhikikomori and tries to understand how thisgeneration is questioning modern Japan.
