How to understand a violent past? Abdi, a native of Somalia reenacts his life marked by war and crime with the help of his neighbour, film-maker Douwe. Through playful reconstructions set in a special effects studio, the two friends embark on a journey through a painful history, focusing on the creative process throughout.
