The curtain has been brought down on the 16th edition last weekend. The prize list was finally revealed!

Dear partners, dear friends,

The curtain has been brought down on this momentous 16th edition last weekend… Under an exceptional and hard-to-handle situation, this memorable edition has known a beautiful success.  Thanks to the great quality of the selected films and the prize list, which you’ll find here after. Thanks also to the important number of viewings (25240 unique viewers), the number of viewers (probably at least 50000, given the numerous collective screenings that took place in schools and education centres…).
The closing night displayed more than 240 “tickets” to access the “25th Hour”‘s virtual room (around 500 viewers), in metropolitan France and its overseas territories (the room being full at some point, we had to broaden the access…).
We’ll have to draw as many conclusions as we can from this unique formula, during which we missed the boiling atmosphere of movie theatres and especially the one coming from the Pathé Cinema’s hallway!
We thus wish to read and listen to any comment you may have on this edition: they will be very useful to the team in charge of the 17th edition! (you can send your questions or comments to: ).

Three appointments have been taken for 2021!

  • All year long with the different regional editions, in the French overseas territories and other countries, in movie theatres and every social place, close to the audiences. Bearing in mind the success of the 16th online edition, which allowed the Festival to be known by new audiences and partners… The first requests that already came through prove this point.
  • In the spring, in Évreux, as a continuation of this 16th edition, screening sessions will be set in the movie theatre Pathé directed at children enrolled in leisure centres or schools in the city or in the Eure Department. Two additional days will be chosen to screen the prize-listed films and a few other films that will not have yet been screened in Évreux. The date will be chosen later on according to the evolution of the sanitary crisis and its restrictions.
  • From November 3Oth to December 4th, for the  17th edition of the International Education Film Festival and its reunion with the Évreux movie theatres! Note down these dates carefully, they will reunite us once again…

In the name of the whole team that I congratulate for the job done and its permanent “creative adaptation”, I wish to thank again each and every partner and support who helped make the Festival happen. Your support has been and remains precious… We just had to “maintain” this cultural appointment! The movie directors said it repeatedly during the awards ceremony… We managed to do it together, jointly!

We’ll see you next year and I wish 2021 to be a bearer of new waves, but waves of joy, of goodness and involvement towards Culture and Education, everywhere in the world.

Christian Gautellier, Director of the International Education Film Festival
