Synopsis

Located in northern Norway, on a small fishermen’s island beyond the arctic circle named Stamsund, MottakSenter is a centre for asylum seekers. Oussama from Syria and Salek from the Western Sahara are among the 120 men and women living there after fleeing war, famine and fanaticism. They are now learning Norwegian, working in the fish factory and waiting for the government to grant or refuse their status aspolitical refugees. Although some have lost hope, caught inthenets of the administrative system, others struggle on, settling down in this unique village.
