Synopsis

Where do the images of the First World War that haunt our brains come from? To see the Great War, no longer be satisfied with telling it, but showing it and make it live: here is what cartoons propose today. By questioning archives and history, the cartoonists present in this film maintain a dialogue with the depth of time. They bring back the First World War to life in our imagination: Their drawings are more than lines. These major artists have chosen the First World War as the main subject of their graphic narration. In their company, we will endeavour to sketch the fragmented memory of a chronicle in drawings of14-18.
